I earlier made the post “CO2 Politics and the Green in marketing mix..” where I made the statement that the development the politicians have set in for example the CO2 matters, would be overrun by the private sector. The other day I read an article on our very own Mærsk and they have already decided to make a lot higher improvements that those set by politicians so far. This is of course a very positive development and something we will see a lot more from now on, since it’s documented that’s it’s not only good for our planet, but also in fact is very good for business. An example of this is the fact that every time Mærsk make improvements to spare 1% of their fuel-use, they earn 5 billion(milliard) DKR!!

Just a thought….There’s a lot of focus on the political goals in for example the reduction of CO2. But I firmly believe that changes will happen faster and action will come from the public and the companies, especially in the western countries, for starters. Due to the enormous focus on these matters in companies and the demands from the public, I think that we will be able to set higher standards and goals for the future, than those being discussed right now. So if the technology is there, we will see huge changes in a not so distant future. The funny thing is of course that the oil companies has helped this development, as the prices are now so high, that companies are forced to look into alternatives. Green solutions will have to be part of companies marketing mix from now on.
More and more companies is looking into Green business ideas. Today I for the first time saw Nordania Leasing (Danske Bank) and their Greenfleet product. It’s a green-car-leasing product so to speak. The basic idea is that they have made a set-up that helps companies save many Kg’s of CO2 pr. year for each car… you rent through Nordania Leasing. Read more here (only in danish though)
