So I just made a Flikr site. So far I’ve only uploaded a few (but very nice) photos. I got some stuff in the archive that will end up there eventually. Anyway, I’m in no way an extremely good photographer, but I know what I like and with a little help from Photoshop it sometimes turns out pretty good.
To strip it down, I’ an amateur photographer, but the word amateur does mean “To be in love with what you are doing”, so it makes sense after all.

In connection with the fashion week in Copenhagen, Schweppes will host an exhibition with the works of artist interpretation of the slogan ”Slightly More Sophisticated”. The works will also be published in a folder or small magazine as hand-out.
The artist are: Graphic designer Christian Zander, the photographer couple known as Barbara Hvidt and Jan Gleie, 7inch, artcompany MoonSpoon Saloon, artist Ida Kvetny, working together with designer Tilde Bjerregaard, artist Isabel Berglund, and New York-based art directors Julie Lysbo and Jacob Wildschiødtz.
I really like the idea and look forward to see the result – thumbs up to Schweppes.

This is great reading for anyone interested in marketing and trends. If you are not familiar with Trendwatching you might want to check it out, it’s normally a good, and at times, very inspiring reading. It’s hard to sum it up, but it’s basically eight ways for companies to join Generation G (and that’s G for Generosity – not Greed). Eight ways or inputs to how companies can get a better relationship with their customers and become a stronger and better brand. In times of depression this is a welcome alternative, and not to forget an important alternative.
1. CO-DONATE
2. ECO-GENEROSITY
3. FREE LOVE
4. BRAND BUTLERS
5. PERKONOMICS
6. TRYVERTISING
7. RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS (RAK)
8. (F)RIGID NO MORE
Anyway, head over to the brief and make your own opinion: Trendwatching February brief
Less is more
Politicians and businessmen are busy saying that we should just buy more products, then the crisis would soon be over. I think that’s absurd, I know that the basics of capitalism is based on the fact that we as people need to buy new products. But we are also living in a time where we have to focus more on sustainability, so I think this strategy is pretty ridiculous. I’ve decided to live different, I don’t need a TV in each room, I don’t need a car and a motorcycle, I don’t need new clothes every week, I don’t need new furniture every year, I don’t need to need. I want some basic things to have a great life, I want really good food, I want great clothes, I want a good computer and a good camera, I want a good bike and a nice place to live. My point is that we need to get more from what we got. Be creative (it will be a great addition to watching TV, I promise!). what can you make out of the things you already got? Why don’t we make ”exchange days” a the local market (update: Freecycle), maybe you can get something in exchange of something you have grown tired of?! Instead of buying ten different things, buy one really great thing, that will actually ad some real value to your life. And while we are at it, use yourself, start training, swimming, boxing, running, whatever. It will give you a positive boost, you will feel more on top of things and save you from illness and what not. Think new businesses, businesses that use what we got, maybe reuse or just simply doesn’t use at all…?!
Less is more – get more from what you already got.

Buy’ology
I recently finished reading the new book by Martin Lindstrøm “Buy~ology” and it gives some interesting insight on how our brain works. It will be interesting to follow how this field will develop and what impact it will have. I’m not totally convinced that it will be as much of a revolution as the author likes to think. But, the book reminds us what most should know by now, that marketing works on more levels and you don’t sell shoes just by making a print ad. I would recommend people in the business to read it for sure.
