It’s been months since the last update on this site, but now I’ve decided to take it up again. So, what’s been going on?

I’ve launched my own creative graphic company called SPEKTR! We are working on a lot of music and culture related projects at the moment.

I’ve also just launched The Cliffhanger, a new guitar hanger that will be in the shops within a week or so here in Denmark.

Supporting Pioneering Leaders

I recently read this article written by Margaret Wheatley and wanted to share it, as it really got me started thinking.

The questions is this: As old systems and methods fail, how can we develop new ways and succeed in sharing them with others and thereby work to change the future?

The funny thing is that when I read this it instantly got me thinking about music. The whole sort of process that she describes reminds me of the coming of a new music genre (looking back at some of those I have witnessesed like Metal or Electronic). At first there are very few pioneers doing their thing, being looked down upon or simply not understood, but at some point they connect and find likeminded people and together they develop this new style. At some point their music get’s recognised and get’s more followers and this is when larger amounts of people starts to connect to it, enjoy and embrace it.

Just thought it would be about this time that I should say thanks to all you people that come by here, it’s kind of weird to see that so many people are reading this stuff by now. As some german guy ones said when I played there with my band, with a very german kinda Arnold accent….”I love you guys” ;)

In january I wrote a post called “less is more”, so when I stumpled upon this video on my friend Carsten Bladts blog, I had to post it here too. Because this is a nice example on how you and others can get more from the stuff you already got. I guess I was talking more in a creative and inventive way, but this is surely a cool way to share. I could really use this in my work as well actually… just yeaterday we had a photosesion and I was desperately looking for some fake gold necklace, but ended up buying some as I couldn’t find any, would have been sweet with a shareprogram for that one…

Check it out here: VIDEO

(For some reason I couldn’t embed the video here…)

As a follow up on my earlier posts on Generation G(ive), here another very good example on how to do it. Well it’s actually more like a normal help organization as it’s you that give and not the company, but anyway, the way it’s made is really thought through and why not give a child a meal when it’s so damn easy. BUT, I have to say that I can’t stop thinking that there’s children with a lot more problems than those in Germany…not to make any enemies here, I don’t know anything about the conditions in Düsseldorf, but I have an idea that this project would have been better of somewhere else in the world.

This weekend I used together with a bunch of really interesting and fine people, looking at life issues like life-vision, life-mission and the Strong Bright
Hearts
community, it was really an eyeopener for me and it feels damn good ;)

It was hosted at Ideriget in Mejlgade – Århus, Denmark and what a great place.

An inspiring weekend and some great tools that I’ll use in the future, both personally and in my work.

I hope that I can write something a bit more useful at some point, but right now I just needed to share it.

Signing out..

This is a cool commercial from Southwest airlines (it doesn’t say it’s a commercial, but I would guess it is). Anyway, it’s nice and clever made, so I thought I’d share it here. Check it out.

What do you do when you got an everflowing stream of youtube clips with skilled people playing their instruments…?! You mix it and make some new songs of it. A nice idea that is nicely executed at ThruYou. Check it out, not my kind of music though, but cool way to use new media in a creative way.

I always get impressed by lovely technology like in this film. It’s Microsoft, but it looks good. Say hello to for example the transparent wall, surface displays, mini projectors and not to forget the electronic newspaper… when can I get one of those??

Some bands worth watching

I’d just like to use the opportunity to namedrop a few upcoming danish bands in the electronic/dance/whatever category:
Oh Land
Oh Land electronic, great sounds and great voice. On the Fake Diamond roster.

Fagget Fairys Electronic pop with a dirty twist.

Balstyrko Blaes Buki and Ane Trolle doing their magic. Again a Fake Diamond – diamond.

Trolle/Siebenhaar Hooks, beats and the great vocals og Trolle.

Something from around:

Crippled Black Phoenix
This is huge, rock, analogue, atmospheric… start for example with the track “Rise up and fight”.

If you like it a bit more raw and also not so danish, I’d really recommend these fine merchants of heavy, nasty rock/metal:

Bison BC Raw riff oriented metaln’rock.

High On Fire Dirty slow metal.

Kylesa Raw metal with a twist.
